The Blood & Cancer podcast

MDedge Hematology-Oncology has launched a new podcast for practicing physicians and researchers with a special interest in cancer and blood disorders. Blood & Cancer is a weekly, interview-based podcast that is released every Thursday.

The podcast features a 20-minute conversation with David H. Henry, MD, of Pennsylvania Hospital, part of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philiadelphia. Dr. Henry has been a community oncologist for more than 30 years and is the editor-in-chief of MDedge Hematology-Oncology. Each week he tackles a hot topic in hematology/oncology with a leader in the field.

Since the launch of Blood & Cancer on January 31, 2019, Dr. Henry has interviewed Alok Khorana, MD, of the Cleveland Clinic on cancer and anticoagulation; Gary Lyman, MD, of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, on biosimilars; and Richard Gralla, MD, of Einstein College of Medicine in New York, on antiemetics; among others. Guest interviewers for the podcast include breast cancer specialist Jame Abraham, MD, of the Cleveland Clinic, and sickle cell expert Ify Osunkwo, MD, of Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, N.C.

Every episode of the Blood & Cancer podcast concludes with Clinical Correlation, a narrative look at the human side of hematology-oncology with Ilana Yurkiewicz, MD. Dr. Yurkiewicz, who write a monthly column in Hematology News, is a fellow at Stanford (Calif.) University.

The Blood & Cancer podcast is available at MDedge Hematology-Oncology, on Apple Podcasts and on Google Podcasts.
